Crosslinked PE is more expensive than regular PE Foams but used extensively in automotive applications where Class A surface protection is required. It has very good high temperature tolerance. In medical applications it is used because of its very fine cell and smooth feel. Crosslinked PE is available in densities of 2#, 3#, 4#, 6#, 8#, 10# and sometimes higher. Standard Colors are white (sometimes referred to as natural) and grey. Other colors are available as special runs. The standard size of a unit of material (referred to as a "bun") is generally 4" x 48" x 72". Higher densities usually come in thinner thicknesses.
